are the Types of Dental Implants ?

- Subperiosteal.
Endosteal
– This type of implants are most commonly used now a days. It is

there will be a prosthetic tooth.
Subperiosteal
– This type of implants are also known as “on the bone” dental
implants. These are placed on the top of the jaw. The prosthesis is

are the Different Ways of Placing Dental Implants ?
There
are different ways in which dental implants are placed . They are
- A
single tooth can be replaced
by dental implants. This is done while in the case of single tooth
missing.
- Several
teeth can be replaced
by dental implant-supported bridges if a person has several teeth
missing.
- If
a person doesn't have any teeth. Then all
teeth can be replaced
by using implant-supported full bridge.
- Sinus
augmentation
is done in some cases when the dental implants are to be placed in
the upper
back jaw. In this area, the bone quality will be very less and this
will effect the success of dental
implants placement. So on these type of situation the doctor has to
do sinus augmentation. In this method the sinus floor is raised and
thus develops the bone for placing the implant.
- Some
deformities in the lower and upper jaw causes changes in the bone and
this will effect the placing of dental implants. On such situation
the patient can go for Ridge
modification.
In this , the gum is lifted from the ridge to expose the defect of
the bone. Then the defected area is filled with bone substitute or
bone to build up the ridge. This ridge modification is done to
