Root Canal Treatment in Chennai

Do you have damaged teeth? Save your teeth with root canal treatment. Root canal is the process of repairing the damaged teeth instead of removing it completely. Root canal or endodontic treatment is done when the pulp (part in the center of tooth made of connective tissues) is badly inflamed or infected. The term root canal means cleaning of the canals inside the roots.
Causes of Inflammation: Decay, crack or chip in tooth.

Signs showing the need for root canal
1.Severe toothache
2.Darkening of tooth
3.Recurring  pimples on gums.
4.Swelling or tenderness
Procedure
Before starting the treatment for root canal the dentist performs an X-ray to get the clear picture of the extent of damage. Treatment is carried out under local anesthesia.
1.Removing the pulp: The dentist removes the damaged pulp by placing a rubber sheet (dam) around the tooth to prevent swallowing of chemicals.
2.Cleaning and filling: After removing the pulp the dentist will clean and enlarge the root canal. Then fill and seal it temporarily. It is sealed temporarily to check the spread of infection.
3.Sealing and fixing the tooth: Here temporary filling is removed and root canal filling is inserted. This will seal the tooth by preventing re-infection.
4.Crowns: It is a cap used to cover the tooth to prevent it from tooth  fracturing. The crowns can be made of metal, ceramic or powdered glass.

  2. A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.
